- Anonymous7 years agoCan I live without it???
You can turn off the back light, if you don't want it on.
It's a built in thing with most new laptops. Some allow you to change colors of the back light. Some only offer red back light keys.
- Anonymous7 years agoI thought it didn’t have a light?!?!?!?
- Anonymous7 years agoOn the computer(MSI)
It does have a back lit keyboard. Like I said you can turn it off or on. If you want it on, you can change it's color. - Sorry for any misunderstanding.
Yes it has a back lit keyboard.

Where does it say that?
Thanks for having me check that again. It does have a back lit keyboard, but it's red only.
If it's anything like mine though, you can turn that off after boot up.
You can search on Youtube for reviews of the model - search for MSI GL62M 7RD-1407 reviews.- Not sure if we're allowed to post youtube links.
- Anonymous7 years agoWhatever, thank you so much! I am going to get the MSI. Any comments?
- Anonymous7 years agoThanks!!
Cool!!
It looks like they have some recent reviews of the MSI laptop on Youtube. I haven't watch any of them yet though.
- Anonymous7 years agoI will and will update
Okay, I'll watch some too, but it will have to wait til tomorrow.
Let me know what you think of the reviews.
- Anonymous7 years agoI don’t know...
- Anonymous7 years agoSome are ok but some are bad, don’t think the keyboard lights up though. It keeps saying that it is plastic and cheap looking and that it has bad graphics
- Anonymous7 years agoThis I should still get it?
- Anonymous7 years agoAre these people just strict?
I watched a few review videos and all said it was a pretty solid laptop. Yes, the laptop's body is made of plastic. That's they way it seems they (the manufacturers) are going these days with laptops to make them lighter and easier to carry.
I did hear that the keyboard wasn't back lit in each video I watched. So it may or may not have back lit keys. It's not really that big of deal, unless that's what your really wanting out of a laptop.
Some of them are kind of strict.
If you're not really sure, you can always ask at the official Sims forum on the tech board, may be in this thread -

Ask phoebebebe13 and chesterbigbird their opinions. They're really good at helping picking out a laptop and saying what's good and bad.
- Anonymous7 years agoI like you!!! Also, was looking around and found this one, over my budget but may be able to get it. Is it better than the other one?
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07D4ZML7M/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?ie=UTF8&&qid=1530209543&&sr=8-5 Hmm.. at quick glance, it's got a better processor, and more video memory. I am not familiar with the new optane. Have to do a little research on that.
- Anonymous7 years agoOk, let me know what you find, I kinda like the look of it too
- Anonymous7 years agoI’ll dk some sesearch too
I like the look of it as well, but I am not finding a whole lot of information on it. Tried to search for review on it (MSI GV62 8RD-200) on youtube, but didn't find many on the actual model number.
Back to Amazon and finding positive reviews for the most part, reviews with photos attached are nice. Looks like it has a red back lit keyboard. One person reported that it has bad build quality. I'm wondering if it got dropped or something. Yes, it doesn't game very well on battery, it's not meant to game on battery. You need to have it plugged in when playing games.
I am seeing some of the recent review on Amazon being for other MSI laptops, so be aware of that.
All in all, this laptop isn't bad. It's definitely one to keep an eye on.
