Re: should i use a reshade in sims4

@trcpunzel  Reshade is generally safe to use with Sims 4, but occasionally a game update will make it incompatible.  So at the very least, you'll need to be prepared to clean out all the Reshade files and play without it after a patch.  This doesn't happen all the time; I'm just saying treat it like a mod that you'll need to update at least every once in a while.

Playing with Reshade installed can also make the game more taxing on your graphics card than it otherwise would be.  This may not be an issue—your card might be perfectly capable of handling the increased load—but it's something to keep in mind.  If you're not sure what your laptop hardware is capable of, feel free to post its specs.

@trcpunzel  I wouldn't recommend using Reshade at all, at least not if you want to play on ultra graphics settings.  Your laptop's hardware is already below the minimum I'd expect to be able to handle ultra settings, although it might be fine if you didn't install all the expansions, or if you didn't mind lower framerates.  But given that your computer's graphics chip is probably already running at its limit, adding Reshade will likely have a significant impact on performance.

On the other hand, if you're willing to experiment a bit, you can add Reshade and remove it later if you don't like the results.  You might also find a recommended preset for people with lower-end computers; check out any accompanying screenshots to see whether you like the look.  But it's entirely possible that you won't get good results with Reshade no matter what you do.
