@jpkarlsen I looked up the cheat and found out how to remove the trait. I did so, but he still has no spells listed as learned, and I read a tome and learned a new one, but still nothing.

You may have to reset your spellcasters powers. Any of the Sages can do that for your Sim. All magic will be forgotten.
Also if you could share that save with me before doing this. Zip it up and put it online then PM me a link I will study it closer to see if there is another solution.
