my sim isn't occult, and they got an scared emotion upon returning from the failed investigation saying they were too scared to complete it alone, so it's definitely a feature of the pack.
I am trying to figure this pack out myself and I think the last update helped; I have finally completed a hands on Expert Gig after failing several times before. I noticed I had to purchase the Brave trait otherwise they were too scared to do anything half the time. I would grind aspirations until you get 8k points, get the Brave trait, and then see if that helps! Also keep in mind even with the Brave trait, your sim will still get scared it just goes away really quick!
