Reflecting the fact that we all exist in a diverse world is not an agenda in a life simulator. Not to reflect it would be, and socially irresponsible.
The point of The Sims in the past has been we never had to live in a multicultural world/town (our Sims). One world, one people, uh, no, not in a game. A game doesn't have to adhere to one world/multicultral in every town for every Simmer.
Player A's game shouldn't have to look exactly like player B's game. Sims mimic life, but where are such things as the illness that can kill a Sim? other than a silly emotion (if at all) ? None, so no it's not mimicing life, nor the ugly side of life nor the depth of life. It's very superficial.
So, no TS4 is no longer life simulator, hasn't been since day one but a means to reflect EA and Maxis' positions on many different matters of what they think, feel and believe. TS4 isn't a creative tool to allow players to play a game, but to build and represent an avatar to the world. TS4 has become a vechile for Maxis and EA to preach (without players even noticing) how we should all be one culture, one people, their beliefs about dog houses, death, the enviornment and what is and isn't bad for the earth, whose religion is acceptable to them to be a representation in the game, and those are just minor things of how they are trying to influence consumers.
They come up with this argument they want someone to feel included...hello, a game doesn't need to teach, influence, bend minds into the image of their thoughts, nor to represent everyone ever created, nor should it have to. Because they now sell games all across the world shouldn't have to make them feel obligated to adapt, change and or build a game to please everyone on earth. Nor should they ever have to build a game to represent every country, place and or thing or person on earth. And they should never change a game about Sims (who are not people nor an extention of ourselves) to ever have to turn it into The Avatar Game to where they listen to this bunch who scream multicultral. It only shows they aren't proud of TS1-TS3 because any of those did not push nor try to please multiculral nor add every avatar ever thought of in all of history.
But the force is strong with this one.
And really, how many of the millions of Muslims in the world play The Sims? It isn't the scarf that is the problem to some but Maxis and EA tring to tell the world how great they are (patting themselves on the back) for adding something to represent less than .00000000000000001 who might play, because in honesty The Sims is too vulgar for most.
Muslims are like 2 billions of the world population you are just too naive (lets say) to think that those words you came up with have any actual facts behind them
On a side note the sims started as American suburb based simulation they only expanded into other cultures because the game blew up globally and is at least expected to make those diffrent cultures feel at home and not keep it focused on one side of a continent
I know how many adhere to the Muslim relgion, and how many would you say are Christian. Waiting on that inspried attire to see if Maxis is going to be all inclusive or not. But Christians usually don't have an article of clothing they have to or should wear out in public. But Orthodox Jewish people have some articles of clothing so waiting to see if we get any of that.
