What Are Your Merfolk Doing Today 2.0
Since the old thread has multiple broken links and things are different here. I decided to create a 2.0 version of the old thread I created. I thought I would create this thread as a variant of the “What happened in Your Game Today?” thread. Serial and non-serial updates are welcome. Any mermadic discoveries in the Sims are more than welcome, including discoveries while using mods. Let's give our MerSims the spotlight here! Tips for what to share: The Only Rules: Keep the updates focused on merfolk! Denizens of the sea like Cecelia, Kelpies, and other variations of ocean dwellers are welcome here.520Views4likes48CommentsWhat happened in your game today?
Hi everyone! I hope you're all enjoying the new forum so far. I know I am!! I'm Charla, a big fan of The Sims 4! ☺️ I was going to join on the old one, but, as it only had a week left I decided to wait until today. I loved lurking on the what happened in your game today thread so I thought would create a new one here. So what's happened in your game today? Today in my game I was playing as a character I created, Lauren Lord. She's an young adult, who dreams of being an author and a mom. Currently she's working as a school teacher, but today she had no work, she stayed at home and played chess and tended to her plants (when it wasn't raining!). I also made this new Sim :) hope the pic works! Look forward to seeing what's happening in your games. Did You Know? The Train Station is interactable. If you click on the train station you get to pick were you want to go then you'll be transported there. If you click on watch train you'll be sent to a bench to watch trains. There are chained up bikes. The rainbow bikes can be ridden by clicking on them.857Views13likes18Comments- hezf7w9vxerd7 hours agoSeasoned Newcomer149Views2likes12Comments
Am I the only one who never cared to play families or with ageing on?
While it's neat there is the option, I honestly have played with ageing off ever sims 2 introduced ageing. Only briefly did I play with it on and it's just not for me. Neither is controlling families. By the time children are in an age group they get more options, they have to waste most of their time on school and homework. With adults you can just do whatever if you use a money cheat. Must say though I'm someone who has zero interest in ever having children. I just prefer to play with a bunch of different adults, see how they interact with each other, set them on career tracks, maybe try some social experiments like put them in a prison, explore them being a supernatural, a mad scientist or otherwise having a pretty interesting life since I really don't care much for the mundane. I am already living that. I also like the chaos, the unpredictable things. And that's something I do miss most in sims 4. It plays it safe too much, it always gives a way out. And that just takes away some much needed excitement. I made a whole survival house and all, put eight sims in the deepest basement and let each sim advance a level up if they accomplished something specific, each level granting some more access to privileges and objects. All eight survived. Even after each of them made a wish at the wishing well while the hooded face showed. In a cursed haunted house. With a werewolf and a vampire among the group.thefirsttemplar7 hours agoSeasoned Ace200Views2likes16CommentsThe Sims 4: Businesses & Hobbies - Official Screenshot Thread!

This forum is about the best ways to make money. Selling plants, best jobs, and more! The way I think is best for me is growing dragon fruits, the image is below. I made over a million simoleons in a few sim days. Give your feedback of what you think are some good ways to make money.243Views5likes28CommentsThe screenshot spammers thread, v2.0
My apologies for starting a new spammers thread, but the old one is not very user-friendly on the new forums. Plus, it's in the sims franchise discussion section--not sure what that's about. Anyways, for those that are new to this thread, the rules are simple; post as many screenshots as you want, while limiting the dialogue to what's going on in the shot, or the reason for the shot New forum, new screenshot spammers thread--let's rock it 😃NateWhiplash10 hours agoSeasoned Veteran2.8KViews12likes425Commentswhat are your rankings on each EP and in each versions?
it's gonna be a very long day for me to rank each Expansion Pack in both Gameplay, CAS and Build mode Gameplay wise: 1: Life & Death (going on a quest, playing as a ghost, making bucketlists, festivals, the world, tarrot cards, reborn, they're all great, i won't get bored with Ravenwood easily) 2: Seasons (a must-have for me for each kinds of weathers, calenders, creating activities) 3: island Living (could've done a little better in gameplay wise but looking for shells, spoiled food, cleaning Sulani and the beautiful world makes up for it so i let it slide, Mermaids is also one of the weakest occult in my opinion) 4: Growing Together (i'm more like the family gameplay and a more dramatic family and it complement with Parenthood very well, the world however could've done better) 5: Get Together (music, world and forming a club is the main reason for ranking it higher on the list) 6: Businesses & Hobbies (endless options how to learn others new skills and europe based world is all the more reasons i rank it higher on the list and i love you can create things your own ways while owning the house in 1 lot and running a community lot too) 7: City Living (i love how it comes with apartment and festivals) 8: For Rent (just like Businesses & Hobbies endless options except it's for residental rental type version, you can try to create a orphanage house by separating the bedroom and bathroom, only sharing the bedroom and bathroom with 3 sims, this is the main reason for ranking it quite high on the list, it has endless options, even creating apartment of your own but i also love how it comes with a beach and a cave and sanctuary but gameplay itself they could've gone better in my opinion) 9: Snowy Escape (i'm not the winter type person but i love how unique it is from the rest of the world, and a winter version of "For Rent" in 1 part of the neighbourhood it's always snowing even without seasons, i love the winter sport options and climbing mountains and if you're not into winter sport you can explore around somewhere else in Mt Komorebi, like get to know with the location and it has festivals you can visit at, you can relax a little, it's perfect) 10: Lovestruck (i love you have more love options, i've always wanted more love aspirations and love personality traits, i like the world too because i'm more into colouring houses, i wished it came with a new venue though and the relationship becomes very low in no time if you have romantically feelings for someone) 11: Cats & Dogs (i'm not the pets type but i like the world, pet vet, pet friendly world, i see myself using this pack in some occasions and unlike the hospital you can visit a pet vet at anytime you like, even if your pet aren't sick, i wished it was like that with hospitals in "Get To Work" so thankfully a pet vet lot is also a plus one) 12: Discover University (i love how different it is because it's mainly based on young adult and adult sims going to university to learn something new and doing challenges, i like the world, university lots, learning new stuff and all but if you have more than 1 career it's a challenge with the careers and the needs at the same time) 13: High School Years (it does complement with Discover University very well because you go to school and if you're older some people go to university to get a better career later in life so it's only realistic, i like the clothes shop kinda thing, allthough bothered with social bunny, i use this part to keep both friendship AND relationship alive, i love how it comes with a school and school prom, completely based on teenagers but gameplay wise it doesn't really comes with concequences so they could've gone better with that) 14: Get Famous (i quite like this pack, it comes with careers, i love the rich world Del Sol Valley, i use the pack in some occasions, i wished there were more things to do and i wished there was 1 more option to turn the famous thingy on/off in certain household since it's either each sims or none of the sims, it's really annoying, selling art? you get famous, writing a book? you get famous, singing a song? you get famous...i get it's called "Get Famous" but it's not always necessary to get famous just because you sell your hard work) 15: Horse Ranch (i like horse gameplay like riding horses and doing horse competitions and even taking care of them, i love the nectar making, i use the growing grasses daily, i like the world too but after a bit you'll get bored after awhile, i wished there was more gameplay to it) 16: Eco Lifestyle (it's kind of like a meh one gameplay wise, out of everything i use the most it's the dumpster one and the recycle thingy to get rid of things you normally can't get rid of it, i love realistic gameplay in lot challenges but that's all about it and i don't vibe with the new world despite being unique from the rest of the world) 17: Get To Work (it comes with an active career but you get stressed out very easily with this pack version, i use the baking skill in some occasions, you can own a shop but with the most recent pack added i'll use this version less likely now and the world is like Newcrest and Willow Creek, just much smaller, it looks way too much like these 2 worlds besides only having 4 lot types) 18: Cottage Living (sorry but farming just isn't my gameplay and it's so difficult to take care of them) CAS wise: 1: Cottage Living (i mainly love the hairs but there are clothes i use them all the time) 2: Seasons (realistic clothes gameplay and i mainly love the hair) 3: Snowy Escape (i love how unique this clothes is and the only other pack besides Seasons which has a winter jacket and i love each of the hairstyle) 4: island Living (normally it's not my style but it vibes with the pack and the cultures very well and i love the hairstyle, i use some of them more often) 5: Get Famous (i like the careers clothes that match perfectly with the pack and i love the hairstyles, i don't have much negativity to say) 6: Get To Work (i like the style, it gives off working clothes vibes knowing your sim is working whatever if it's in an active career or in a non-active career, it gives off working clothes vibes because it match perfectly with the pack, i'm here for it and i like the hairstyles too, the alien like clothes just aren't my style though) 7: City Living (i love the items you get to cover your hair with your hat, the clothes looks so different from the rest in a good way, it's giving multi-cultural vibes, some hairstyle is kind of like a meh one for my taste though) 8: For Rent (i like the clothes style and mainly the hairstyle, i see myself using some hairstyle more often) 9: High School Years (i mainly love the hairstyle but i also love the clothes styles, not much negativity to say) 10: Cats & Dogs (i like the clothes, i like the pets in CAS and i like the hair, some hairstyles needs a refresh though) 11: Get Together (i can see myself with these party clothes types more to be honest and i love the hairstyle but it needs a refresh though) 12: Discover University (the clothes isn't my style but i love how different the clothes style is and it quite match with the pack and i love different hairstyles) 13: Lovestruck (not terrible but also not the best but there are things what i like in CAS and it's mainly clothes) 14: Businesses & Hobbies (i like how it comes with more things outside the clothes and hairs) 15: Growing Together (i like some of the things in clothes, the hairs not that much) 16: Eco Lifestyle (the hairstyles are the only reason for not ranking this low) 17: Life & Death (dark themed style isn't my thing and i feel like the hairs are from earlier packs or basegame) 18: Horse Ranch (i'm not the country like style i do love a few hairs though but i probably use the clothes wise the least) Build wise: 1: Seasons (i love the variations of this furnitures, walls and floors, it's perfection) 2: Snowy Escape (i just love the japanese build/buy items, the furniture, walls and floors, they're all perfect, i don't have anything to complain about, i infact think it complement with Seasons very well) 3: High School Years (i love the vibe, it match perfectly with the pack and age, i don't have anything to add since it's perfect for my taste) 4: Cottage Living (it's giving spring vibes and i'm here for it, the build/buy items doesn't dissapoint me, i may not be the farm person but besides the CAS, the build/buy items never dissapoints me, i just don't use the gameplay version of it, but i keep the pack due to build/buy and especially CAS items) 5: Get To Work (the build/buy items are giving hard working vibe and i'm here for it, the furnitures doesn't dissapoint me at all, i like the pack for this reason, it complement with some packs very well) 6: City Living (i love the variations of the pack and build/buy mode is also one of them, it might complement with Get Famous very well in my opinion) 7: island Living (i love how the items match with the pack, the summer island theme pack, i use some of them all the times even in other worlds, especially the worlds that gives off Summer vibes and i'm here for it) 8: Get Together (i love the disco style of it and how well it match with the pack, i don't think i have anything bad to add) 9: Lovestruck (i love the more colourfull vibe in this pack and it match perfectly with the pack name, i don't have much to say) 10: Discover University (i like the style, i like the realistic gameplay, i like the variations in build/buy) 11: Eco Lifestyle (i have problems with the pack but this version isn't one of them, we need items in different style, i love the more old classic style in this pack, the build/buy mode is very realistic and i'm here for it) 12: Businesses & Hobbies (i quite like the build/buy items and unique one for my taste in a good way too) 13: Growing Together (i love the items that comes with the pack, i use some of them almost all the times when in family gameplay mood, some items doesn't match my style but i can deal with it) 14: Get Famous (i like the furnitures style of it and it match perfectly with the pack, i just don't use some of them because some items either aren't my style or because they're too big for my taste) 15: For Rent (i like a more freshing items that comes with the pack, some items just aren't my thing though) 16: Cats & Dogs (pets aren't my thing but i do use some of them in build/buy mode, i especially use some items for decorations only, it's not terrible but also not that great but then again i'm not the pet gameplayer so i don't rank it higher than this) 17: Life & Death (the dark furnitures and furniture style isn't my thing but i do love the floors and walls that comes with the pack though) 18: Horse Ranch (country building isn't my style, i'm sorry) here are my rankings on both gameplay, build/buy and CAS versions, i'm mainly a gameplayer type person but in some occasions i check for build/buy mode, i sometimes also check CAS, there are hairstyles and clothes i most likely or unlikely use in my gameplay and same with build/buy mode don't ask for each of this 3 types rankings combined into 1 because it took me hours to get the rankings done with 3 versions alone🤣🤣sailorleontine11 hours agoSeasoned Ace314Views3likes18CommentsWhat kind of small businesses are you I made a 'haunted house' (pay per hour) staffed by three ghosts, seance table and book shelf, with access to a toilet and shower. A real giggle when Temperance turns up! It gives a real... perspective into the townie mindset. What books are not STOLEN are littering the table tops, when they run out of room there they dump them all over the paths of the map. Half-eaten and unstarted meals and drinks litter every surface. Every appliance is broken due to their inability to not 'prank' each other and their treatment of others houses leave much to be desired. Frankly I find the behaviour of townies to be repugnant. x)96Views6likes4CommentsDo you move your sims around a lot or stay "local"
When you're doing a Legacy Challenge do you stay in the same home or do you move around? I'm asking because in my current game I'm trying to get to 10 generations. I'm halfway there, currently with two kids in uni and the parents and two other married adults in the house. I've modified the house so it's enough room for everyone. But I'm torn between having the kids move out to a different house or town after they graduate. The old folks will be alright. The only thing I'll really miss is the money they rake in because they've all maxed their careers. Both kids graduated from HS early...one is going to be a musician, the other is going into law.wilsonstone2 days agoRising Novice263Views4likes17CommentsGetting back into Sims 4 and changing playstyle
I mulled over whether I should make this thread or not. Maybe it will help someone who is trying to get back into the game as well. As you guys might know, playing Sims can get a bit blah if you are doing the same thing every save. For me, it's create a sim, have them get married and have 2 or three kids, in quick succession, trying to beat the normal lifespan before they turn into adults. Give them a dog or a cat and then abandon the save when the children become teenagers (or sooner), and micromanage the heck out of them along the way. Gets boring real quick. So after taking about 2 or so months break, I decided to fire it up again. I restarted my Opposites Attract save and that's the only save I'm focusing on right now. My playstyle has changed and I'm enjoying the game again. I'll tell you guys what I'm doing differently. One thing is I don't race against the clock anymore. I play on long lifespan but I'm using a mod to shorten it just a tad shorter. So they are newborns for 3 days, 15 days for infants, toddlers for 20 days, children for 30 days, teens for 45 days, Young adults for 60 days, adults for 90 and elders for 40. It give me and my Sims so much more time to accomplish things without feeling like we are being timed. Second, I don't micromanage my Sims anymore. I let them be. Only time I get involved is to do stuff that Sims don't do autonomously, like promotion tasks. Other then that, if they want to go play in the snow, or be on the computer or listen to music endlessly, then that's their business. Lastly, I'm starting to explore the other packs a lot more. There is a lot of stuff that I have yet to do in this game so I'm making it a point to try out other things besides having families. Right now, I'm about to have Genesis and Derek, my Opposites Attract couple, go on a bowling date and then go skating. I never did bowling in this game, but I bought the pack a long time ago. Also did skating once, way back when. The point of this post, again is to let people who are stuck or bored of this game, to let them know, hey change it up. If you are bored with one thing, try something else. That's the cool thing about this game, the possibilities are endless.FairyHappy223 days agoSeasoned Ace229Views11likes4Comments- 403Views11likes9Comments
