What happened in your game today?
Hi everyone! I hope you're all enjoying the new forum so far. I know I am!! I'm Charla, a big fan of The Sims 4! ☺️ I was going to join on the old one, but, as it only had a week left I decided to wait until today. I loved lurking on the what happened in your game today thread so I thought would create a new one here. So what's happened in your game today? Today in my game I was playing as a character I created, Lauren Lord. She's an young adult, who dreams of being an author and a mom. Currently she's working as a school teacher, but today she had no work, she stayed at home and played chess and tended to her plants (when it wasn't raining!). I also made this new Sim :) hope the pic works! Look forward to seeing what's happening in your games. XCharlaSim18 minutes agoSeasoned Scout36KViews62likes5238CommentsExpansions Pay Help!

Rotational Play - Documenting Your Game
I play my game rotationally and have been playing within the same save file now for about five years, slowly building up different narratives across my households and updating their worlds and lots to make them more applicable to those that live there as I go. Over time I have been trying to build individual household narratives , largely in isolation of one another, to the point of now wanting to have more cross pollination between the worlds. I've also got a bit of a head canon regarding the various worlds and their proximity with one another and utilise a mod to control the worlds different sims are able to travel within, to help with this immersion. I don't have a particular order that I move across my worlds/households, and get enjoyment from being able to switch in random with my save being full of many types of sims (and household sizes). I am also quite a goals based player and enjoy slowly working my way through the careers, aspirations etc. offered across the game in the hope of eventually completing them all. As my game starts to become increasingly complex, I am itching to start documenting my gameplay, keeping track of both my individual sims (>200) and the overarching narratives. I also want to a better way of tracking my various in-game achievements so I can look back on them. I'm just wondering how other people do this for their games? I occasionally make hand-written notes as prompts but really want to start capturing progress in a digital format, alongside screenshots. I had thought about a blog but I don't think this would satisfy what I want. I know there are some third-part programmes that offer such tools and I am not adverse to using such a thing, but would be really keen to hear what other people do.miklc5 hours agoRising Adventurer206Views4likes10CommentsBest practices: for rent
What is the safest way to build a residential rental ? Build everything first and then set it to residential rental ? Does editing a lot after sims move in cause problems ? The announcement of the new B&H EP made me realise I never properly explored for rent. I want to give it a try now. My ideal scenario would be have a household start with renting out a studio and then slowly expanding to more units. But I am afraid of game corruption. I realise playing with for rent is like playing with fire but I want to try it once. What is the best way to approach this without ruining my game.atreya335 hours agoLegend52Views1like3CommentsGiveaway: Businesses & Hobbies EP

While in a party spirit, don’t forget to get out on The ElectroDance Floor to dance the night away! Surprise Birthday Cake The ElectroDance Floor FAQ Do I need to log in to my EA account? A: Yes, by logging into your EA account, you save your Event progress and the rewards you earn from this Event to the account. That way, if you ever need to install The Sims 4 again, you simply need to log back in to gain access to your rewards! What about SDX releases, I thought those were provided free content and updates! A: Sims Delivery Express drops aren’t going away, but we're always looking for new and novel ways to deliver gameplay, as well as objects and clothing to add to your Sims' lives. You can still expect SDX releases throughout the year as well as new Events to engage with The Sims 4 throughout the seasons. What if I log in and don’t see the Event? A: The Event starts on 2/04 at 9 a.m. PST and ends on 3/18. Please make sure you are online and logged into your EA Account. If you still do not see it, you may need to restart The Sims 4 or disable any UI mods you have installed. The Blast from the Past Event will be available to players until 3/18. While no new quests will be added after 3/04, players can still complete quests and claim any event rewards that they've earned but not yet claimed from the Event Screen. Rewards must be claimed by 3/18 or be lost. Will this be available to Everyone? A: Yes! The Blast from the Past Event will be available to everyone starting February 4th, and you won’t need any Packs to participate. What are Event Points? A: Event Points are a limited-time measurement for the Blast from the Past Event that allows you to claim free rewards. As you earn Event Points, you progress along an experience track and can claim rewards along the way. How do I earn Event Points? A: Each Objective in a Quest gives Event Points. Mousing over the Quest will have a tooltip telling you how many points you will earn. Completing the entire Quest nets additional Event Points. Once you have enough, you can claim rewards. Do I have to spend Event Points? A: Your Event Points are a cumulative total. When you claim a reward, you still stay at the same Event Point total, so your Event Points aren’t actually “spent.” What happens if I have leftover Event Points? A: The Blast from the Past event offers a finite number of rewards. If you claim them all and still have Event Points, don’t worry! Your Event Points cannot be used for anything other than the Blast from the Past Event and will expire when the Event is over. Can I still complete the Event if I start late? A: Yes, the event will run for 6 weeks. If you start late, you will have access to all the previous week’s Quests. https://www.ea.com/games/the-sims/the-sims-4/news/blast-from-the-past-event-faq2.8KViews14likes56CommentsHow do you play and what stories did you create for the premades?
I have this thing of preferring to play with premades than creating my own sims. I like the premades from the worlds and the Maxis gallery. I always try to cross stories between them and continue the gameplay. I'm curious to know how you guys play with the premades and maybe gather some inspiration for my own game. I start: I LOVE to play with Ned Whalen. I always make him try to fit into a group, since he was a nerd his whole life and now, living alone, he can have a social life. My challenge is to always try to find him a girlfriend (premade too) who accepts him the way he is and adds a new lifestyle for him that isn't games and computers. I also LOVE to play with Babs L'amour and make her a group of friends with Ollie, Andre, Cassie, Steve and June. And of course, create a love triangle between her and Ollie and Andre.n7_shaya15 hours agoNew Traveler74Views4likes5Comments25th Bday sale no longer available???

To be honest, this is more of a BUSINESS than HOBBY pack. Tattoos aren't, IMO, a hobby as much as a job you do. You don't sit around at home tattooing yourself or others, do you? Pottery is a hobby. It could start in your garage with you learning to throw and move to selling things from your garage and, eventually, opening a shop. Candy making? Is that a hobby or just a thing you do. So, with only one true hobby, I wish they had given us a few more hobbies. I would have liked, pool tables (10 years, really?) golf tee for practicing your swing (the only driving we'll ever get), ballet bar, fixer-upper car, sky diving simulator, Scuba diving (which could be done in your own pool or a public diving pool), arcade games (pinball, whack-a-mole, the claw, test of strength, etc.). Hopefully, these will MAGICALLY appear in a KIT or two SOON! HINT! HINT! With this pack, we can tattoo, throw pottery and make candy, each in a shop. They also offered ideas for cross-pack integration with Pet Cafe, Dance Club, Karaoke venue, teach acting, massage, yoga, gym. laundry and bowling. Some of these can be combined into one venue such as massage, yoga and gym. I created a laundry, bowling alley when bowling dropped. As seen in the trailer, tattoos and pottery. Classes and teaching can be added to most of these. I decided to go through my packs (I do not have every single one but, most). Here's a list of skills and shops that I thought could be created. Design Center (DHD), Photo Studio (GTW/Mos), Arcade (GT/DU), Poker Parlor (CCave), Hookah bar (CL), Small pets (C&D/L&D/MFP/or any collectable like frogs, etc,), Roller/ice Rinks, Beauty Parlor (GF), Bot Shop (DU), candle shop (ECO), Fizzy (ECO/HR) Hot Springs Spa (SE), Comedy Club (Base/HS), Movie Theater (MH), Fortune Teller (L&D/Para), Jewelry (CrysCrea), Bistro (CB), Artist Studio (AS), Woodworking (Base), Cafeteria (HS/DU). Many of these could be combined. When Movie Hangout dropped, I created a theater using a cafe in the lobby. I would send my Sim and create a group of all the other sims and we, as a group, would sit and watch movies. It was technically a cafe with a theater attached but, with the ticket machine, you can charge for simply entering your lot. An arcade with games (few as they are) on the bottom floor and possibly ping pong tables and foosball tables on the second floor with perhaps a bar. Could it be time for the Whipped Dream Cupcake Factory to make a reappearance in the candy shop? Also, once useless Magnolia Promenade could become an epic shopping/crafting center. You could create a gym/spa/yoga/onsen springs on that large 40x30 lot with a family living above. A shop with three areas could fit on the 30x20. A shop with two areas could easily fit on either 20x20 lot. You could leave one 20x20 lot as a festival spot for craft tables and food kiosks as MP has no "festival area" unless they add it before the drop. Well, those are a few of my ideas. If you can think of any others or an interesting combo of skills, add it below. BE WARNED: I have dibs on the name Harry Pottery. Don't mess with me fellas. 🤣dannyboy5817 hours agoNew Traveler220Views3likes6CommentsIn defense of NordHaven
There are some simmers who seem upset that the world is European and want an African world. I am not against wanting more non-western or European worlds. I also not against simmers who requested it.I feel like a few things get overlooked. The world is diverse. The last four worlds that were Sims 4 are as well. As in, they are worlds that we never have represented in Sims 4. Evan the American world ChestnutRidge was base on Arizona and a representative of a ranch culuture. That was not shown in Sims 4 before. The European worlds were based in Romania and the newer one is Nordhaven is base on Sweden.I think one thing that gets over look .Is that United States and Europe are big places. That has a lot places that underepersentated as well. Non-western worlds take time and effort.I feel like this gets overlook. But the sims team has to make sure to represent a world properly. They have to pick a pack that can fit that setting and won't overshadow the world. That also have gameplay and settings that represent the world properly. They have to do extensive reaseach.Especially if the continent and country is far way. That has different culuture.Horrorgirl618 hours agoSeasoned Ace246Views9likes6CommentsThe screenshot spammers thread, v2.0
My apologies for starting a new spammers thread, but the old one is not very user-friendly on the new forums. Plus, it's in the sims franchise discussion section--not sure what that's about.
