what are your rankings on each EP and in each versions?
it's gonna be a very long day for me to rank each Expansion Pack in both Gameplay, CAS and Build mode Gameplay wise: 1: Life & Death (going on a quest, playing as a ghost, making bucketlists, festivals, the world, tarrot cards, reborn, they're all great, i won't get bored with Ravenwood easily) 2: Seasons (a must-have for me for each kinds of weathers, calenders, creating activities) 3: island Living (could've done a little better in gameplay wise but looking for shells, spoiled food, cleaning Sulani and the beautiful world makes up for it so i let it slide, Mermaids is also one of the weakest occult in my opinion) 4: Growing Together (i'm more like the family gameplay and a more dramatic family and it complement with Parenthood very well, the world however could've done better) 5: Get Together (music, world and forming a club is the main reason for ranking it higher on the list) 6: Businesses & Hobbies (endless options how to learn others new skills and europe based world is all the more reasons i rank it higher on the list and i love you can create things your own ways while owning the house in 1 lot and running a community lot too) 7: City Living (i love how it comes with apartment and festivals) 8: For Rent (just like Businesses & Hobbies endless options except it's for residental rental type version, you can try to create a orphanage house by separating the bedroom and bathroom, only sharing the bedroom and bathroom with 3 sims, this is the main reason for ranking it quite high on the list, it has endless options, even creating apartment of your own but i also love how it comes with a beach and a cave and sanctuary but gameplay itself they could've gone better in my opinion) 9: Snowy Escape (i'm not the winter type person but i love how unique it is from the rest of the world, and a winter version of "For Rent" in 1 part of the neighbourhood it's always snowing even without seasons, i love the winter sport options and climbing mountains and if you're not into winter sport you can explore around somewhere else in Mt Komorebi, like get to know with the location and it has festivals you can visit at, you can relax a little, it's perfect) 10: Lovestruck (i love you have more love options, i've always wanted more love aspirations and love personality traits, i like the world too because i'm more into colouring houses, i wished it came with a new venue though and the relationship becomes very low in no time if you have romantically feelings for someone) 11: Cats & Dogs (i'm not the pets type but i like the world, pet vet, pet friendly world, i see myself using this pack in some occasions and unlike the hospital you can visit a pet vet at anytime you like, even if your pet aren't sick, i wished it was like that with hospitals in "Get To Work" so thankfully a pet vet lot is also a plus one) 12: Discover University (i love how different it is because it's mainly based on young adult and adult sims going to university to learn something new and doing challenges, i like the world, university lots, learning new stuff and all but if you have more than 1 career it's a challenge with the careers and the needs at the same time) 13: High School Years (it does complement with Discover University very well because you go to school and if you're older some people go to university to get a better career later in life so it's only realistic, i like the clothes shop kinda thing, allthough bothered with social bunny, i use this part to keep both friendship AND relationship alive, i love how it comes with a school and school prom, completely based on teenagers but gameplay wise it doesn't really comes with concequences so they could've gone better with that) 14: Get Famous (i quite like this pack, it comes with careers, i love the rich world Del Sol Valley, i use the pack in some occasions, i wished there were more things to do and i wished there was 1 more option to turn the famous thingy on/off in certain household since it's either each sims or none of the sims, it's really annoying, selling art? you get famous, writing a book? you get famous, singing a song? you get famous...i get it's called "Get Famous" but it's not always necessary to get famous just because you sell your hard work) 15: Horse Ranch (i like horse gameplay like riding horses and doing horse competitions and even taking care of them, i love the nectar making, i use the growing grasses daily, i like the world too but after a bit you'll get bored after awhile, i wished there was more gameplay to it) 16: Eco Lifestyle (it's kind of like a meh one gameplay wise, out of everything i use the most it's the dumpster one and the recycle thingy to get rid of things you normally can't get rid of it, i love realistic gameplay in lot challenges but that's all about it and i don't vibe with the new world despite being unique from the rest of the world) 17: Get To Work (it comes with an active career but you get stressed out very easily with this pack version, i use the baking skill in some occasions, you can own a shop but with the most recent pack added i'll use this version less likely now and the world is like Newcrest and Willow Creek, just much smaller, it looks way too much like these 2 worlds besides only having 4 lot types) 18: Cottage Living (sorry but farming just isn't my gameplay and it's so difficult to take care of them) CAS wise: 1: Cottage Living (i mainly love the hairs but there are clothes i use them all the time) 2: Seasons (realistic clothes gameplay and i mainly love the hair) 3: Snowy Escape (i love how unique this clothes is and the only other pack besides Seasons which has a winter jacket and i love each of the hairstyle) 4: island Living (normally it's not my style but it vibes with the pack and the cultures very well and i love the hairstyle, i use some of them more often) 5: Get Famous (i like the careers clothes that match perfectly with the pack and i love the hairstyles, i don't have much negativity to say) 6: Get To Work (i like the style, it gives off working clothes vibes knowing your sim is working whatever if it's in an active career or in a non-active career, it gives off working clothes vibes because it match perfectly with the pack, i'm here for it and i like the hairstyles too, the alien like clothes just aren't my style though) 7: City Living (i love the items you get to cover your hair with your hat, the clothes looks so different from the rest in a good way, it's giving multi-cultural vibes, some hairstyle is kind of like a meh one for my taste though) 8: For Rent (i like the clothes style and mainly the hairstyle, i see myself using some hairstyle more often) 9: High School Years (i mainly love the hairstyle but i also love the clothes styles, not much negativity to say) 10: Cats & Dogs (i like the clothes, i like the pets in CAS and i like the hair, some hairstyles needs a refresh though) 11: Get Together (i can see myself with these party clothes types more to be honest and i love the hairstyle but it needs a refresh though) 12: Discover University (the clothes isn't my style but i love how different the clothes style is and it quite match with the pack and i love different hairstyles) 13: Lovestruck (not terrible but also not the best but there are things what i like in CAS and it's mainly clothes) 14: Businesses & Hobbies (i like how it comes with more things outside the clothes and hairs) 15: Growing Together (i like some of the things in clothes, the hairs not that much) 16: Eco Lifestyle (the hairstyles are the only reason for not ranking this low) 17: Life & Death (dark themed style isn't my thing and i feel like the hairs are from earlier packs or basegame) 18: Horse Ranch (i'm not the country like style i do love a few hairs though but i probably use the clothes wise the least) Build wise: 1: Seasons (i love the variations of this furnitures, walls and floors, it's perfection) 2: Snowy Escape (i just love the japanese build/buy items, the furniture, walls and floors, they're all perfect, i don't have anything to complain about, i infact think it complement with Seasons very well) 3: High School Years (i love the vibe, it match perfectly with the pack and age, i don't have anything to add since it's perfect for my taste) 4: Cottage Living (it's giving spring vibes and i'm here for it, the build/buy items doesn't dissapoint me, i may not be the farm person but besides the CAS, the build/buy items never dissapoints me, i just don't use the gameplay version of it, but i keep the pack due to build/buy and especially CAS items) 5: Get To Work (the build/buy items are giving hard working vibe and i'm here for it, the furnitures doesn't dissapoint me at all, i like the pack for this reason, it complement with some packs very well) 6: City Living (i love the variations of the pack and build/buy mode is also one of them, it might complement with Get Famous very well in my opinion) 7: island Living (i love how the items match with the pack, the summer island theme pack, i use some of them all the times even in other worlds, especially the worlds that gives off Summer vibes and i'm here for it) 8: Get Together (i love the disco style of it and how well it match with the pack, i don't think i have anything bad to add) 9: Lovestruck (i love the more colourfull vibe in this pack and it match perfectly with the pack name, i don't have much to say) 10: Discover University (i like the style, i like the realistic gameplay, i like the variations in build/buy) 11: Eco Lifestyle (i have problems with the pack but this version isn't one of them, we need items in different style, i love the more old classic style in this pack, the build/buy mode is very realistic and i'm here for it) 12: Businesses & Hobbies (i quite like the build/buy items and unique one for my taste in a good way too) 13: Growing Together (i love the items that comes with the pack, i use some of them almost all the times when in family gameplay mood, some items doesn't match my style but i can deal with it) 14: Get Famous (i like the furnitures style of it and it match perfectly with the pack, i just don't use some of them because some items either aren't my style or because they're too big for my taste) 15: For Rent (i like a more freshing items that comes with the pack, some items just aren't my thing though) 16: Cats & Dogs (pets aren't my thing but i do use some of them in build/buy mode, i especially use some items for decorations only, it's not terrible but also not that great but then again i'm not the pet gameplayer so i don't rank it higher than this) 17: Life & Death (the dark furnitures and furniture style isn't my thing but i do love the floors and walls that comes with the pack though) 18: Horse Ranch (country building isn't my style, i'm sorry) here are my rankings on both gameplay, build/buy and CAS versions, i'm mainly a gameplayer type person but in some occasions i check for build/buy mode, i sometimes also check CAS, there are hairstyles and clothes i most likely or unlikely use in my gameplay and same with build/buy mode don't ask for each of this 3 types rankings combined into 1 because it took me hours to get the rankings done with 3 versions alone🤣🤣sailorleontine7 hours agoSeasoned Ace251Views3likes15CommentsHappy St. Patrick's Day 2025!

I mulled over whether I should make this thread or not. Maybe it will help someone who is trying to get back into the game as well. As you guys might know, playing Sims can get a bit blah if you are doing the same thing every save. For me, it's create a sim, have them get married and have 2 or three kids, in quick succession, trying to beat the normal lifespan before they turn into adults. Give them a dog or a cat and then abandon the save when the children become teenagers (or sooner), and micromanage the heck out of them along the way. Gets boring real quick. So after taking about 2 or so months break, I decided to fire it up again. I restarted my Opposites Attract save and that's the only save I'm focusing on right now. My playstyle has changed and I'm enjoying the game again. I'll tell you guys what I'm doing differently. One thing is I don't race against the clock anymore. I play on long lifespan but I'm using a mod to shorten it just a tad shorter. So they are newborns for 3 days, 15 days for infants, toddlers for 20 days, children for 30 days, teens for 45 days, Young adults for 60 days, adults for 90 and elders for 40. It give me and my Sims so much more time to accomplish things without feeling like we are being timed. Second, I don't micromanage my Sims anymore. I let them be. Only time I get involved is to do stuff that Sims don't do autonomously, like promotion tasks. Other then that, if they want to go play in the snow, or be on the computer or listen to music endlessly, then that's their business. Lastly, I'm starting to explore the other packs a lot more. There is a lot of stuff that I have yet to do in this game so I'm making it a point to try out other things besides having families. Right now, I'm about to have Genesis and Derek, my Opposites Attract couple, go on a bowling date and then go skating. I never did bowling in this game, but I bought the pack a long time ago. Also did skating once, way back when. The point of this post, again is to let people who are stuck or bored of this game, to let them know, hey change it up. If you are bored with one thing, try something else. That's the cool thing about this game, the possibilities are endless.FairyHappy2211 hours agoSeasoned Ace78Views6likes1CommentWaffle Explains It All: A Series of Deep Dives of Game Mechanics
I've been doing these for a while as an attempt to fill the void left by Carl's Guides no longer updating, but mostly focused on stuff I get curious about and decide to look into. I've just compiled a convenient way to access them all via a spreadsheet and thought I'd share! You have to click the tab at the bottom of the page to get to it. It features a full overview of every venue type, too! That was a big series.Intern_Waffle_6411 hours agoSeasoned Scout45Views3likes2CommentsThe screenshot spammers thread, v2.0
My apologies for starting a new spammers thread, but the old one is not very user-friendly on the new forums. Plus, it's in the sims franchise discussion section--not sure what that's about. Anyways, for those that are new to this thread, the rules are simple; post as many screenshots as you want, while limiting the dialogue to what's going on in the shot, or the reason for the shot New forum, new screenshot spammers thread--let's rock it 😃NateWhiplash12 hours agoSeasoned Veteran2.7KViews11likes396CommentsWhat happened in your game today?
Hi everyone! I hope you're all enjoying the new forum so far. I know I am!! I'm Charla, a big fan of The Sims 4! ☺️ I was going to join on the old one, but, as it only had a week left I decided to wait until today. I loved lurking on the what happened in your game today thread so I thought would create a new one here. So what's happened in your game today? Today in my game I was playing as a character I created, Lauren Lord. She's an young adult, who dreams of being an author and a mom. Currently she's working as a school teacher, but today she had no work, she stayed at home and played chess and tended to her plants (when it wasn't raining!). I also made this new Sim :) hope the pic works! Look forward to seeing what's happening in your games. XCharlaSim12 hours agoSeasoned Scout42KViews70likes6047CommentsFavorite Additions To Game Play?
I'm just wondering what your favorite additions to gameplay are and what does add to the game that you like. I just downloaded the Life and Death addition and have found it adds a lot of fun situations, some of which are very surprising.hermettte16 hours agoSeasoned Novice16Views0likes0CommentsIt's the chaos that keeps me addicted
I have a sim who had one infant and was waiting for her boyfriend to ask to live together. In the mean time I decided to have a second child with him. She had twins and now she has 3 infants in a very small house. Her mother phones up and says she is coming to stay and help out with the babies. Next thing I know is the whole family is visiting , all 7 of them. There is no room for them to sleep or sit or even do anything. The Nanny decided to not show up and the boyfriend was no where to be found. I wonder why he doesn't ask to live together. They have amazing compatabilty but somehow he has developed some kind of fear as he runs around screaming all the time I decided to let my sim go to work and just watched the chaos unfold. If the boyfriend doesn't pull through should my sim dump him? His brother seems nice.Frn073117 hours agoSeasoned Ace50Views6likes2CommentsGiveaway: The Sims/Sims 2 Legacy Collections

I had the parents put their infant twin sons in their cribs before they went out to HAHAHA celebrate Night on the Town. It took my Sims long enough to get the one twin in his crib, I was all but shouting profanity at them. Which isn't really my style. I sent them to the local pub, since the hour was quite late. I thought they had just enough time to get under the wire. I got the popup the babies had been sent to Daycare. Yet, the clock ran out on the 'holiday', which was awful or so my Sims complained. I sent them home. He still had work to do. A concert and a photoshoot. I sent his wife to go check on the twins. What do I find? No, they aren't securely in their cribs, like normal. Instead, I find one of them in their nursery, only he's lying on a pile of trash on the floor! The other one is downstairs in the office rocking out to the music on the radio. Cute, but not even close to safe . . . What is going on? I swear I'm beginning to experience some recent bugginess to this game. It's off-putting and I shut it down before even playing for twenty minutes. Sign me, Disgruntled137Views5likes9CommentsJourney To Batuu Positive Thoughts Thread

I'm planning to make some sort of couple's retreat place where four married couples will go who are the worst for each other. Like the worst possible combinations of traits. Not like an opposites attract kind of situation or a pairing that's bound to have some annoyances, but more the kind of pairs who really never should have married. I kind of want to see how they'd interact, I think I'll stick them in the off the grid country retreat for a set amount of time and see if they'll leave with their spouse, with someone else or maybe on their own. I will let them decide how they interact with other sims, I will only tell them to do the interactions that pop up as wants for them. I am already toying around with a few loose ideas like a good and evil pair, a prankster and a serious one, a flirty and unflirty pair and a loyal and disloyal pair. It's still subject to change though and it's probably an interesting challenge to toy with for anyone. I'm just trying to find the worst possible pairings, minor stuff can still be tossed in along with it of course since it can all add up, but say, something like slob and neat or lazy and active would not do much because sims are way too nice by default. I'm looking for the most toxic combinations for the best drama.thefirsttemplar2 days agoSeasoned Ace118Views3likes9CommentsAdvice Column for Sims (The Sims 4)
Meant as a funny thread. The idea is simple: you ask for advice (something in your life, or pretending to be a sim you've created etc) and others answer it as if you were a sim! Here's an example: Question: How do I meet new people? Advice: Just go up to them and do a Friendly Introduction to them. Just wave, say hello, and you know their name and phone number! From there, just do interactions that come to your mind! Don't worry about stopping a sim walking by! They may be going to work or school, but they're always happy to spend a hour on meeting a new person! And if they're not, they either have the Mean trait or are angry for randomness sake. But don't worry, the anger only lasts for 3 hours and won't be noticeable if you are feeling other emotions! Some rules to keep in mind though: This is not a gameplay advice thread. For that, please check out this thread. For a nice threaded view, please reply to original posts when making a new question and reply to the question when giving an advice. Please keep the game logic of the advice on The Sims 4 only. For other games, they have their own threads listed here: The Sims 1 (Upcoming) The Sims 2 (Upcoming) The Sims 3 (Upcoming) Let's give this a try, shall we?EgonVM2 days agoSeasoned Ace143Views2likes12CommentsSims 4 Community Corner

A: Yes, by logging into your EA account, you save your Event progress and the rewards you earn from this Event to the account. That way, if you ever need to install The Sims 4 again, you simply need to log back in to gain access to your rewards! What about SDX releases, I thought those were provided free content and updates! A: Sims Delivery Express drops aren’t going away, but we're always looking for new and novel ways to deliver gameplay, as well as objects and clothing to add to your Sims' lives. You can still expect SDX releases throughout the year as well as new Events to engage with The Sims 4 throughout the seasons. What if I log in and don’t see the Event? A: The Event starts on 2/04 at 9 a.m. PST and ends on 3/18. Please make sure you are online and logged into your EA Account. If you still do not see it, you may need to restart The Sims 4 or disable any UI mods you have installed. The Blast from the Past Event will be available to players until 3/18. While no new quests will be added after 3/04, players can still complete quests and claim any event rewards that they've earned but not yet claimed from the Event Screen. Rewards must be claimed by 3/18 or be lost. Will this be available to Everyone? A: Yes! The Blast from the Past Event will be available to everyone starting February 4th, and you won’t need any Packs to participate. What are Event Points? A: Event Points are a limited-time measurement for the Blast from the Past Event that allows you to claim free rewards. As you earn Event Points, you progress along an experience track and can claim rewards along the way. How do I earn Event Points? A: Each Objective in a Quest gives Event Points. Mousing over the Quest will have a tooltip telling you how many points you will earn. Completing the entire Quest nets additional Event Points. Once you have enough, you can claim rewards. Do I have to spend Event Points? A: Your Event Points are a cumulative total. When you claim a reward, you still stay at the same Event Point total, so your Event Points aren’t actually “spent.” What happens if I have leftover Event Points? A: The Blast from the Past event offers a finite number of rewards. If you claim them all and still have Event Points, don’t worry! Your Event Points cannot be used for anything other than the Blast from the Past Event and will expire when the Event is over. Can I still complete the Event if I start late? A: Yes, the event will run for 6 weeks. If you start late, you will have access to all the previous week’s Quests. https://www.ea.com/games/the-sims/the-sims-4/news/blast-from-the-past-event-faq5.6KViews17likes211Comments
