When you think about it, Sims 3 was just as broken up and subsidized. Instead of GPs we had the Sims 3 Store, including additional worlds (and if you wanted special content you had to pay more for the Gold Edition, and sets with premium items where you had to get the whole thing even if you just wanted the premium item.
@stilljustme2 but were hottubs or butlers add in a Sims 3 store?
Hot tubs yes -- not butlers. I don't even remember how butlers worked in Sims 3 as opposed to Sims 4; Bridgeport was so laggy and bugged in my game that I only played it once. And I don't remember if you could have butlers outside of Bridgeport.
You can. You can have a butler any where you want in Sims 3 as long as you have the money and the butler has their own room assigned to them.
Also you can fix any world in Sims 3 - but it is not easy or quick. Takes a lot of work, but it can be done. I have no issues with Sims 3 and don't use mods in that game. No lag - freezing or getting stuck - things many players complain about. I just do not like Bridgeport very much - but do like Rflongs remark of it that includes dive spots - which is also an option you can use.
A lot of that work required Create A World, which was never available to Mac users; I was a Mac user in most of the Sims 3 era. I did use Boot Camp to dual boot Windows around the time Pets was released (when I got my replacement Mac after my old one died -- great timing) and tried CAW but could never get the hang of it. But you could just take a dive spot and slam it into the ocean off of Sunset Valley or Sunlit Tides, not like you can just put a house or venue on an appropriat sized lot in Sims 4 no matter what.
(OT, but just want to add that I'm happy you're still amongst us. B) )
Thank you so much, I appreciate that. - I'm happy I'm still here also.
