As for the elective classes

Hi, I heard the elective classes are counted to get the degree but it doesn't seem to work in my game. I tried 3 major classes and one elective class. He studied for a week and he only got 3 credits..? So I had to changed to main class for all. He took 12 classes but he only earned 11 credits. He had to study only for 1 class for a week more to graduate. Is it happening only in my game?

  • Hm, that’s strange. Yes it should count as regular credit. What major did you pick? Do you remember the elective class you pick?
He has been approved in all classes?

He was in Biology major but don't remember what elective class was because he experienced this in 2019. So he had to study for 4 weeks in total for each 4 classes include one elective one for 3 weeks and 1 class for additional 1 week. Since that time, I never select any elective classes but yesterday, I heard many other simmers pick 3 main classes and 1 elective one for 3 weeks. I've been so confused.

  • Your Sim probably failed one of his classes if he didn't get credit for it. I've had many Sims attend university and take electives. Their electives have all counted the same as the core classes. This includes one Sim who has already completed six degrees and is halfway through his seventh.

Failing will cause you to lose the credit for that class for sure. I find it’s easy to fail electives because often they use skills you don’t yet have. In order to pass, you have to complete all coursework and attend classes. That is enough if you started with a few skill points, but you need to make sure you have around 4-6 skill points to pass. If you started with 0, then you may end up with only 3 after all the work is done. The best thing to do is email your professor about 3 days before term ends, and if they say you’re not doing well it will give you time to raise the skill needed.

If my sim had failed in it, then he would have gotten the alert for it, but he hadn’t. Also his skills had been maxed with almost every skills before enrolling the university. And he was grand master vampire fully immune to sunlight. There’s no way to fail in that class. I definitely remember he had A+ every major and elective classes. The professors praised he was a stellar student as well. Because i had him study all through the night and he had no chance to enjoy anything else while in university for 4 weeks. He always attended all classes within 5 mins. He got distinguished degree in biology at foxbury.

In case of my sim, he was the first sim enrolled in university. I wanted to have a look how the system works in university, so i picked him as he had 10 skill points with every skills. I didnt want to fail, so i had him study all through the night even though his skills were maxed. But he didnt get the credit from the elective class even though he had A+ with it. Now i can guess he definitely got a bug with the elective class.

I think there is a bug with this, I remember it being reported when the pack came out. Something to do with the game not recognizing progress, due to all the skills being maxed out.
Here is the bug report, it sounds similar to what is happening to yours.

The OP of it had theirs actually fail, but there were a few comments after that sound more like your issue.
