I am not surprised that Discover University classes are rabbit holes as TS4 closely follows TS2 in some regards. However, I wonder if Sims will be able to attend university part-time and live in their home world not in the University world.Also, I wonder if the university world will be like the other worlds where you can freely travel between the worlds, or if it will be like TS2 and TS3 university where you are trapped in that world until you finish your semester(s).

Actually, it’s partially confirmed. The sim in the trailer with her toddler was confirmed to not be allowed to live in university housing with a toddler. Therefore she lives off campus.

I was more wondering if you could attend from other worlds. Part of the selling point of Sims 4 is the ease of travelling between all of the worlds. I'd be disappointed if they locked university out of that.

There wasn't a specific confirmation for that, no. I'm hoping that's the case & with the way the TS4 worlds are set up it would make sense for it being possible to live in, say, Newcrest and commute to school. We'll hopefully get a better answer on Friday in the livestream.

I’d imagine you can choose classes and commute from home, and choose not to travel Bightchester and Foxbury when a sim has classes

I think there's two POVs of "living off campus" there's "come from a long way away and need to stay but didn't get a dorm/is in their 2nd year of college" (and need to live -off campus. Or there "stay at home with your parents and commute" option
