I mean, there's Sims 4 Studio, which allows you to look at your CC and helps detect if something's not working. However, alpha CC tends to look strange in it anyway, so if you use alpha it's hard to tell.
But mods really have to be either tested in game individually or checked with the creator for updates. Also, mods can sometimes conflict with other mods.
Another thing to keep in mind if you use any mods or CC, is that the localthumbcache file in your sims 4 folder has to be deleted every time you add or remove something in your mods folder. Even if it's just one single thing. That file can get easily corrupted or go wonky so it needs to be refreshed if you change anything. The game will generate a new one when you start it up. If I use my CC game folder, I make sure I delete that file before starting my game because I tend to add and remove things a lot. I have found that it definitely helps keep the game a little smoother.
