Gallery being sorted by "Popular Now" by default is a problem

sorry to ask guys but i really don't use the forums that much...do you know if tagging some admins / simgurus would help them seeing this thread? even if they don't fix this, it would be nice if they told us why they changed the default tab and what leads them to think it's an healthy decision for the gallery community.
