I usually rollback and replay. Things have happened in my game that I don't want. For instance, in one of my past games Wolfgang Munch died from the gas object. My sim was friends with him. I exited the game after the death played through and reloaded that game from the save I had (just before she left for school). Wolfgang did not die. The funny thing is Wolfgang acted as though she HAD saved him even though the event did not happen! He became closer to my sim.
Yes, that was my instinct. Thank you for your insight.
