Help! Sims Become Unresponsive

When I play the game for about 1 sim day, my Sims become unclickable and time stops moving but I notice the cars still goes by. It happens in all my saves, I even started a new save with 1 playable Sim in the neighborhood and it's still happening. I've been trying to narrow down what could be the problem in my game. I took out most of my mods. I have about 6 mods remaining in my mods folder, which are MCCC and Better Exceptions but BE isn't finding anything wrong. I don't know if this is a game bug or what. I have all the expansion packs including the latest Cottage Living. I have never had issues like this before.

I've cleaned the game cache and reinstalling now to see if it works.

In these save files are your sims living in the new world Henford-on-Bagley or have they visited any lots in this new world? Some players are reporting bloated save files with game-breaking lag and tons of blank empty households being generated after living in this world.

I noticed any save file that touches the new world breaks due to these issues. I spent days removing any mods without recent updates, updating the mods I could, (made sure to clear cache every time), and even started a clean game folder with no mods. It never helped. The two AHQ threads I was following on this issue are being looked into now... you'll notice a post from a Sims team member directly under the OP. Link to combined threads

If this is your problem then the best you can do is hit Me too but the good news is EA is aware of this issue. It helps to make 100% your mods are not the issue because not everyone is experiencing this. The Cottage Living patch broke a lot of mods. How I've been playing is avoiding that world altogether. My sims do not live there and they do not visit. As long as I do that then the save file is fine but Henford-on-Bagley dooms any save file it touches beyond repair.
  • This keeps happening in my game too....my sims cursor disappears everytime with 1 r 2 sims days. This started after I got the new pack cottage living. The world around keeps moving but I can't move my sims. I have no mods.

How does the game run with no mods at all? I'd try completely removing the mods folder and setting on the desk top then try running a completely new game to rule out any possible computer performance issues.

Oh man. I just placed four members and their spouses from my Main save in HoB. Don't tell me this I may cry. This day needs to turn around. Now. No more angst, no more bad news. No more day-early deliveries of a fork lift. You name it, it's likely to have happened and it's not even 10 AM here. Face/palm.

@GalacticGal It's possible you won't have any issues. Besides the AHQ forum (possibly the OP in this thread)... I haven't really seen anyone here have a problem with the new world so not everyone is struggling. Bugs are weird like that. You can try to find a backup of that save file and make a copy.

edit: Here's how to restore a previous save file

I had Sims living in all worlds in my old save but I actually hadn't played that much in the Cottage Living world. I first encountered the freezing traveling to a wedding event in San Myshuno. Then another household in Oasis Spring would freeze around the time the Eco inspector was to arrive at 9:05 am. The game kept freezing around the same time. My issue does sound similar to the guy who posted, I just never noticed any blank households. There was a lot of single generated Sims in my Manage others.

I'll continue playing with 1 test household. It was occuring still but I need to test more after reinstalling and cleaning the cache.

I did have that teleportation issue that was patch recently..
