Household members showing up on set?

Every time my sim tells the director that she is ready to perform, her boyfriend (the only member in the household) shows up on set - usually in his underwear - and is unable to leave. Once her day is over and I click on the option to go home, he stays at the lot and I have to click on him to tell him to come home. Is anyone else having this problem?
