How do you initiate activities in Snowy Escape? SOLVED

There is skiing, snowboarding, and rock climbing---the only one I can find is rock climbing under "plan social event". If I want to send my Sims skiing or snowboarding, how do I do it? Can you only do...

I went to one of the mountain rental lots and saw the trams. I sent my sim to rock climb and that didn't work because he didn't have enough skill, but I then saw the slope and since I bought him skis and it was in his inventory I was able to click on the hill and he skiied down it.
