How sneaky are merfolk?
I already know that if your sim asks a merfolk if they are a mermaid, 9 times out of 10 they will deny what they are. Just how sneaky are they about hiding their identity? This is the reason I ask. ...

I've had this happen too. One of the non-housed mermaids, I knew he was a mermaid but I didn't see the tail after just meeting him on a human sim and going in the water. In another save I had him move to the city with another sim and he's in the bathtub flipping his tail over the edge and soaking it up.
It's just the games way of not being intrusive for people that want more realistic play for those that don't want mermaids I think. I like it better than how they did vampires. Mermaids aren't in your face unless you the player choose them to be.
I don't know what happens in the long run though yet... like once you out a mermaid do they all show up?
