Love Day In the Spring?

I delete Love Day from the calendar and push it farther back into winter but replacing it on the calendar

I think it's a pretty common theme in games, the romanticised idea of winter is all about Christmas and snow, and then after that ends it's onto the next thing. I suppose most people don't want to recreate the bleakness of winter after Christmas in a game. :D

One setup I've done in the past (but only when playing with 2 or 4 week seasons) is I'll move Winterfest and New Year's to the end of the first (or second) week of winter, and then make Love Day the next weekend. However, if the Romance Festival ends up being on the first week of the season, I'll keep it in spring and move it to coincide with the Spring Romance Festival (with Bunny day/flower festival the next day.)

I must be the only one on the planet that doesn't find winter bleak. However, many do and that's precisely why they have another 'holiday' in February. It gives people something to look forward to before winter eases into Spring. :)

Actually, Winter officially begins on 21st of December and goes until the 20th of March. This can vary a day or two only, due to the Solstice. Summer generally begins, officially, on the 21st of June and lasts until Fall begins in September. Each season is three months in duration. The weather doesn't always reflect the season, even in Real Life. Just sayin'.

I totally forgot to re-arrange the Love Day/Valentine’s Day and Easter-like holidays, though, so I’ll have to figure out where within the seasons calendar to put them in, once I add in the Día de los Reyes holiday and rearrange the Christmas stuff…

I particularly loved the 21 day seasons mod, which gave me ample time to celebrate the holidays the way I like to. Too bad it appears to be the main source of the interference I experienced when it came to the Starlight Accolades Show playing out as it should. Celebrities don't march out, no host showing up, or if one did they took the entire time speaking into the microphone as if it was Open Mic Night, and never handing out a single award! Face/palm. I just have to get situated, acclimated to having shorter seasons, is all. :)

Yeah, but I may have been confused by the statement is all. I do consider February a winter month. Of course, Sims seasons are a bit harder to arrange exactly to real life, lol. ?

Oddly, I hear June 21st called the first day of Summer and Midsummer's Day.

As I understand it, the solstices and equinoxes are the start of the meteorological seasons, but almost everybody really brackets their seasons from months' starts - though it turns out we disagree about which months.

I lived in Southern California for 20 years and when I lived there I considered there to be two seasons "Summer," which lasted for about 11 months, and "Rain," which covered the other month.

I noticed that too, but if I want to bother with it, I can set love day (and even call it Valentines day) anywhere I want in the calendar.

Valentines day tends to be overrated to me anyway irl, despite being an inveterate romantic given the chance.

Obligatory romance is a self-contradiction and I always wonder: is it better to just agree that Valentines day is a bananas contrived holiday for getting yo eat candy in school and put pressure on people to buy flowers, cheap chocolate and so on? Or is it best to try to do something genuinely impressive as a show and declaration of love, lest my SO feel let down if I don't?
