How about 4 active sims all in acting careers? The fun part is that you can play a household of roommates all trying to get started in the business. They can practice scenes together too.
The downside? Juggling auditions and gigs. If you join them at work you end up seeing the same gigs over and over. I gave up after awhile.
You might just try following 1 sim to the gigs and let the others go to rabbit-hole gigs.
