I think a Semi Open world would be a good compromise. It wouldn't cause as many bugs and issues, and wouldn't make the game as laggy. Plus, lots wouldn't be as empty, since each hood (4 or 5 lots) would just be filled with sims. And then there could be still near areas to explore outside of the lots.
I think it needs to be bigger than that! There needs to be more potential for customisation and building without having to bulldoze lots. I think a lot of Simmers would want to build their towns up, not have to tear them down and start over every time they want to add something new.
Maybe 10 lots per hood? And have like, 3 or 4 hoods?
Are you using the term 'hoods' as in world, like San Myshuno, Oasis Springs, etc are hoods?
I think there needs to be more than that. If you look at Sunset Valley, there's 92 lots to play with; compared to say Willow Creek which has 25 and Forgotten Hollow which has 5. There's got to be some middle ground somewhere.
I agree. I think that if you had around 25 to 30 open lots then players would be happy with that especially if they where community lots.
In deed Sunset Valley has more than twice the amount of lots that both TS4 'worlds' shipped with in the base game
