I hate the whims and tend to skip over them as they are meaningless. Now if they could combine the whims of TS3 and the wants/fears of TS2 then it might be better as there are consequences if things don't plan out right haha. This game is just becoming too easy to play and it doesn't have that level of difficulty that I found in the other TS games. I understand they want to bring something new to the game but why give us something like whims if there are no consequences if we don't complete it. It happens in real life so why not TS?
I sometimes get a craving for Oreos. I don't get sad if I don't get them though, lol. And at any given time, there are probably half a dozen build ideas floating in my head too, but if I don't get in game and build them, there's no consequences to speak of. I'd love to have a million dollars, but I'm not suddenly more poor because I don't have it. Whims are just whims, irl.
I might go to the store for the Oreos. I might go in game to build. I might go play the lottery to try to win it big. But if I don't? lol

I think the idea of having a special type of whim - for bigger whims, where if you pinned them, and the sim didn't achieve them for a while, they would get sad (and if you completed them, you get more aspiration points than usual) -- but -- if you didn't pin them or deleted them, there would be no effect, could serve both type of players.
I could go with that. I've said before, I like toggles and player choice. :)

I agree with that but if I understand it correctly the TS2 system isn’t that rigid fortunately. There are more circumstances necessary to make it a problem and those circumstances I take it are very much player driven. And I do like it when I could drive my sim into depression if I’d want that. I think that might be why people praise the fears system (I’m not familiar with that feature as a player, when I played 2 those fears were just sitting there, me just avoiding them).

Toggles. Lots of toggles. I really don't think there's a way they can make a Sims game you and I both like relatively equally otherwise, lol. But that would be a dream to have, yes.
