Here's a refresher on Ambrosia. Start working on those cooking, fishing, and gardening skills!
Ambrosia is a Gourmet Cooking Skill Recipe that unlocks automatically at level 10, so long as you also have level 10 in regular Cooking. This Guide will show you how to best get the ingredients gathered up so you can Cook up your Sims some Immortality on a plate. In order to make Ambrosia, you'll need Skill in Fishing, Gardening, and of course to have mastered the art of Cooking. Ambrosia requires Angelfish and a Death Flower, which I'll show you how to get. The Recipe also requires you to accrue 1500 Satisfaction points to get a Potion of Youth from the Rewards store. Note that other Sims can gather the Ambrosia Ingredients for your Gourmet Chef. They Simply need them in their Inventory or the Refrigerator to make the dish available when clicking on the stove/fridge.

I’ve never once made ambrosia either, and I really can’t be bothered/don’t want to ‘prepare’ for the coming event by getting skill levels of my current sims to the required level. If the event assumes you know all this background knowledge (many new players won’t), then I don’t think that’s fair.

FreddyFox1234, the event doesn't require prior knowledge or preparation. Everything you need to know will be presented in the event
As the weeks progress, you’ll continue to unlock the secrets of Ambrosia and eventually learn how to cook it!

I just posted that info for folks who are looking forward to the event (like me!) and might want to get a head start before it begins.

Many thanks I'd much prefer to get preparation going before it starts
since this is first time I'm actually making ambrosia 😅
I just tend to like my dead sims...dead 💀👻
so I haven't really tried it out yet
probably gonna do it in Simmingal test save too
maybe I'll resurrect myself in time to test the new ep 😂 - FreddyFox12342 months agoSeasoned Veteran
Ah, that’s good to know, thanks simgirl1010 !

I don't think you get it. EA is asking players to play this game ONE WAY and not all of us do so. I DO NOT MAKE AMBROSIA. Never have, never will...for 25 years. I don't like doing the Quests and literally "X" them out... Can't tell you how maddening it was to start getting all of the tutorial-like quests years after the game came out, so this isn't making me happy.
Anyway, none of this is how I play the game. Requiring it in order to obtain prizes just doesn't seem like the right move. EA should by now, after 25 years (25 years of which I've played The Sims franchise), recognize that the game is played very, very differently across the board and making users play in a way they don't like isn't terribly considerate. No prizes for me simply because EA doesn't recognize my individual right to NOT play this way.
