Remembering the good old days is always a delightful conversation - but I think I really prefer to see what is ahead.
I mean nothing like going to an old settlement or visit museums and think about how did people ever do this or that or maybe romanticize it and imagine life of the past - but when one goes out their own door - we are here - not there. This is now, not then, Use-to-bes will forever exist as thankfully - as long as people never let it be forgotten - but in all things the here and now is where we exist - and the only thing ahead is the future.
If something of the past is relevant and useful to the future - whether it is life or a game - eventually it will come full circle, if it proves to be as worthy as we think it is. I don't think many people actually fully go back to those times - other wise you will often also recall that not everything then was thought of as perfect as we sometimes do when looking back. People say most of us never see the true now - and often do not see something as better then it actually was until it is gone.
Just reflecting....
