I know i talk alot of crap and i say im angry about the sims 4, and i do it often, but i dont totally hate the game, i am just severely bored by it, and any new addition i see also leaves me feeling bored in a day. im angry cause when i start up the game, i want to play for more than an hour.
I cant say i often make it that long. or if i do, i find myself just staring at the screen thinking what should i do, and dont oftten come up with an answer. the game expects to much player input and control from me. which i dont like. i want them to do their thing while i steer little moments of their life down the path i choose. i dont wanna have to control everything. i would really love to customize everything though, sadly thats not possible. which to me customization was always a huge part of the sims and never should have been stripped away. i totally agree with the peoples quotes i added below. and i would even go a litlle further and add that i really love what they did with Vampires and toddlers as well as parenthood. those were amazing additions that i welcome whole heartedly to this franchise, and would love to see more additions like that. That being said, all 3 of the things i mentioned never even appealed to me before i tried them. they won me over.
but i still cant shake that empty, hollowed out feeling which just leads me to go thru the motions as i play without really much enjoyment.
i've said this before in other threads about past games, but it's how i feel.... when i used to play past games, i always had this feeling where i cant wait to play again, i cant wait to get home, this next DLC looks so incredible im gonna play sick tomorrow when it comes out just to play it. and i would play those games with every free moment i had and never felt disappointed. i never felt like i absolutely have to have something hugely significant added to the game to give me any kind of enjoyment.
I say the things i say about the sims 4, because i want to see so much more in the sims 5, i dont want to be disappointed again, cause if i am, i truly believe that i will be totally done with this series as far as anything in the future beyond sims 5. so sorry to all you true sims 4 lovers for having to see me all over the place sounding like im bashing, i just get really passionate about what the sims always was and truely believe it's wrong for this game to be watered down and stripped of its greatness from all versions including 4. i want to see 5 be something that everyone could agree on. That like @Cabelle1863 said below is the best of all games and with the smarts to match.
lastly, like @auroraael14 also said below, i would love to see the sims 4 get better, and hope it does. i just dont believe its possible anymore. but i really do hope im wrong.

If there was a Sims 5 that had the best features of Sims 2, 3 & even 4, I think EA/Maxis would have an overwhelming hit. The game would be flying off the shelves, so to speak, and the forum would be full of "look at the fun stuff I did today in my game."

I love different things from each sims game. I love the humor from the sims 1 and that it was actually hard to start a relationship with a sim. I like the prank calls and the fact that you never knew what was going to happen when you opened the game so I saved often. I like the sims 2 for the animations and the fact that my sims felt like they were a family. I miss the likes and dislikes and turn on and offs. I miss the open world and story progression from the sims 3 and that I could make a room match so easily. I love the sims 4 buy and build objects and think they are the best out of all the Sims games. CAS is amazing and I love that building even if it's missing some features. I love how they implemented the gallery and how easy it is to plop down a house when I don't feel like making one. I do miss certain features from other games when I'm playing the sims 4 but I'm hoping it might return in a patch or pack or they add something better that is a mix of the things missing.
