Replacing computer

Well, looks like I’ll need to replace my 10 year old, non-metal Mac (surprisingly still runs great though). I assume the newer, basic iMac would be fine for playing the game?

    Hey there,

This thread is quite a few years old and is being locked here to avoid further necroposting.

Feel free to create a new thread if there's a subject you're wanting to discuss that doesn't have a more recent topic, thanks!

  • It would, yeah, Pretty much every Mac from 2015 onwards (and some even older) all have Metal and will run everything fine.

    Everything from these models onwards:
    Late-2012 and later 21.5-inch iMac
    Late-2012 and later 27-inch iMac
Late-2013 and later 27-inch iMac with 5K Retina display
    Late-2012 and later Mac mini
    Mid-2012 Mac Pro
    Late-2013 Mac Pro
Mid-2012 and later 11-inch MacBook Air
Mid-2012 and later 13-inch MacBook Air
    Mid-2012 13-inch MacBook Pro
Late-2012 and later 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display
    Mid-2012 15-inch MacBook Pro
Mid-2012 and later 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display
    Early-2015 12-inch MacBook

If you're going to go with a new one, I'd suggest one that can run Catalina (now that the bug with that has been fixed):
