I still can't vote at the prom.
Fairly certain it's a Mod but have yet to isolate it as it requires setting up a save that is 'just about to go to the prom' - and that's a popup you get with no warning that you can just say "give me five minutes then I'll go".
(I need to look at what time it's set to on the calendar and save a new game with no mods in it just before that).
I also get mood errors constantly - but there was finally an update to the script mod that reports errors so it was stop saying "a whim broke" and start blaming something. Now it just says "a whim broke" and then every so often blames something - so I've found one updated but still bad mod since then, but I imagine there are more.
EA made some massive changes to the ways moods and traits and aspirations work - which is territory a LOT of modders mess with because of the common complaint that these things don't actually impact gameplay - so there are mods that make them actually impact gameplay - and all of those broke.
- Some of them are fixed.
- Some we're finding have been abandoned.
- Some were fixed in ways that broke other things because this modders fixes by going up and that one fixed by going down and now you have two mods that conflict that used to work well together but the mod authors don't have the other modder's mod so don't see the issue...
I suspect it will be months before things are fully 'normal' for people who use a decent set of mods. As long as my game can limp along after some error screens I've been just getting used to Sims now being a bit like Skyrim - constant errors but I can pretend to not see them and keep going if I only use 2/3rds of the mods I want.
For a lot of people it seems the bigger issue is the game is even more buggy if you DON'T use mods... Everyday I'm grabbing a new set of mods designed to fix bugs in the game.
So the age old advice of "just play without mods for a while" isn't better advice right now.
The ideal advice is "play with the mods that fix bugs but only the ones that don't conflict with other bug fix mods which is something nobody documents so figure it out." ;)
