Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. I will keep an eye on my family tree, just to make sure it's a solid fix. Best of luck to you, you have far more patience than I.

I have attempted for a day and a half to figure out how to connect my Sim, Joseph, Sr., to the family I had generated off of him; his parents and four siblings. I kept failing, but today I rose more determined to try again. I read a couple of articles that in many ways contradicted each other on just how to go about it. I, for a certainty, didn't wish for Joseph's heritage to be fraudulent in any way.

So, with a prayer and a hope in my heart, I placed the Cantrell's you know into a house in Del Sol Valley, for now, and the Aaron the First, his wife and Queen Juliana and their five children (after I removed a second daughter),  I had Aaron create his dynasty, making Joseph Sr., his heir, of course, and then I sent the real Joseph, as in Erik's father, over to the castle in Belforde.  I used MCCC to create a relationship between this original Joseph and Aaron the First. Then I realized I'd forgotten to make the link with his mother. Quickly, I fixed that. Then after switching households, I deleted the generated Joseph.  Then I checked original Joseph's relationships before I sent him home.

It WORKED. He's got his parents. I removed the generated Joseph, and the original one is still listed on the tree as a son of Aaron and Juliana!

I am over the moon right now. Not sticking around, however, as I still have a little bit of time to play before I head on over to my son's house for dinner!  I just wanted to share this news in case others are struggling.

It's unfortunately a bug right now, I had to transfer my sims to a new save as well due to the family tree messing up as well. Took me a few hours to fix relations in the new save, enough that it stressed me out to not touch the save for a few days. 😔Returned to it yesterday and saw that it messed up again in the new save 😔 
Cat's mom is appearing as both Vanessa and Julie(her wife's mother) This time around atleast the game removed Alexis as being Julie's daughter so thankfully it didn't add any unwanted relation between Cat and her. I'm just gonna leave it and hope for a fix, wasted hours for nothing 😞
