Why does it matter if the Sims 3 did something worse, that doesn't erase the problems with the Sims 4. If the Sims 4 has room for improvement then it has room for improvement and the Sims 3 has nothing to do with it.
As far Sims 3 doing something worse than Sims 4 I do not see it as far features goes and I would say it is the reverse as Sims 4 has features that appear to be watered down compared to what was offered in previous versions for me. The only thing I can say about Sims 3 and it is now happening in Sims 4 now is how well EA/Maxis addressed the problems for that is one of the reasons for some not getting an good experience. I am an feature player and that is how I judge my games for it comes down to what can it do and what can the new version do and the experience in Sims 4 is not telling me much and I am not going to sugarcoat it for EA/Maxis been in the game for many years.
