I just reread through you question, I'm not sure why you are still seeing a cloud, but the above pictures are what it should look like after your sim has completed the mystery.

Did you revive Mother after you defeated her? I've only seen that cloud appear after I revived her but did not make the town crazy.

ugh my game must be bugged. I never revived her she is still dead.

Going to delete the localthumbcache and repair. Hopefully that works because I really don't want to deal with that storyline again.

I have tried everything. I revived mother and killed her again and repaired and I am still stuck with this cloud in my neighborhood.

I am just so tired of bugs in this game. I might have to take a break for a while. I left the island because of the bugs I was experiencing and then I complete the strangerville mystery only to encounter another bug. It is getting old.

Very. I almost never play it any more. Too much hassle and too little real gameplay.

Not sure if it works or not, I myself do not have Strangerville, but while stumbling round researching it I found this. Hope it does work and helps get rid of the cloud.

I am testing out a cheat. I need to reactivate the story and then test the skip the story cheat out. I really hope it works because I will have to redo the story with another sim to see if that works too. I am still rotating and have not made it back to Strangerville yet.
