Maybe Origin's telemetry isn't all that smart, and counts a new game as a new player and that's why TS4 is supposedly gaining 35% new players, yearly. Because when I would start a new game (even offline) it would congradulate me for playing an hour, etc. It started the recounting of how many hours played over with each new game. Maybe it counts those games as new players. lol
I think it's bulky.Grant said that most simmers only play 2 sims at a time. But the poll they had early said most simmers are family players , and also girls.
I can judge how boring a game is going to be by how many Sims I can control successfully in a household (just one example of lack of depth). In TS1 I wasn't able to control eight Sims and successfully give them all equal time and attention. Some died, lol, or I had to ignore some to make sure others went to work and school or wind up in military school for neglect. Same thing in TS2 it took me years to be able to handle eight in a household because have wants and needs that if not met can really cause a lot of chaos in the family and even lead to death shortly.
I have to admit it was a lot of fun to always play six to eight Sims in TS2. In TS3 I can't handle that many because of open world. There are too many distractions for them and they may go off on their own and I have to scream at screen, where are you going? lol It's difficult even in TS3 to handle a large household. In TS4 I could play eight Sims with ease, because though annoying, like getting up from table to wave at another or hug another or move their plate to a bedroom, or go up and down stairs to talk to each other though social was full, I could pretty much just not watch them unless they stopped doing what I had told them to do, oh, wait they did that often with stuff falling out of queue. But I didn't feel pressure to keep an eye on them since they aren't going to die and or burn up or and or keel over from disease etc. They aren't going to decide to repair a TV etc. and get fried, so I could just let some of them roam and waste time talking too much to others in the home while concentrated on just one. I didn't even have to worry if I had enough food for everyone in TS4. Nor if any trash was going to send them into a spin of aspiration failure since they don't do anything but feel uncomfortable around any dirty dish and or trash. Then I really didn't have to make a Sim clean up the place but just drag it to the trash myself. TS4 makes me think of first grade level gameplay, like when you play solitare (Old Windows version) and there really is no stradegy that card game and strictly luck and randomness of the cards. Where as a different type card game may require more thought and planning. TS4 is more like an easy card game dependant on chance and or random cards dealt rather than a player having to plan out how to reach goals, or to fulfill wants or wishes, and or bring about situations that make the game more entertaining That sort of depth just isn't there as in the other games. Minds that need a challenge of daily life surpass those who don't need such stimulation and it's not wonder we find TS4 boring even after 29 packs+.
