EA was the only developer who had the least interest in "The Sims" that Will Wright made. It was the first developer to have gay characters in the game, as when it was first shown it was the sensation of the show outshining all the competing games.

Just read a bit about the history before saying that it was sad that EA developed it because it wouldn't have gone ahead at the time at all except for them.
We can be sad that they haven't invested as much as they should have in the last couple of games and made mistakes but give them the credit for having the insight to make it in the first place.
