I have been a simmer since day one and I feel like I just paid $70 for the original game.
Okay, first the good news. I do like the multi-tasking and how they handle Sims pregnancies...no more stupid ugly maternity clothes.
I like the fact that kids can start learning skills early.
That's it on the good stuff so far...I have played about 11 hours.
My biggest beefs are the lack of customization. In Sims3 I re-colored everything. Not only is there no color wheel to custom blend colors and fabrics, there are only a couple of color choices and none of them are to my liking.
The filters in CAS are annoying.
The edge rolling is obnoxious and difficult, you can't tilt the scene...only get 2 view choices.
No pools...no swimming whatsoever.
No toddlers.
No dishwasher or trash compactor, and my Sim refuses to use the front door. They only go out the back door, and they also refuse to clean their dishes in the kitchen...they only take the dishes to the bathroom.
No repair person...option only is to repair yourself or replace.
The lots are all too small, I usually only build in minimum 30x40, but prefer 64x64.
Can't change ground elevation.
No town. No bookstore, no grocery store, no City Hall.
No political career.
The eyelashes on all the Sims, especially long lashes are fugly. Nothing but heavy solid lines.
All of the reward items for being a loyal Sims player and buying all their expansion packs in the last version are cheap and cheesy. I feel cheated.
The plants mature too quickly, and you can't eat them raw.
No Mod file...I haven't found any way to put custom music into the game yet and I really don't like the Sims music.
I realize this is a base game, but the base Sims3 was ten times better, and about $30 less.
I feel cheated. Truly, seriously cheated.
