This is complete wrong. The only difference between 32-bit and 64-bit is the width of the registers. It has nothing to do with how data is calculated or how many cores are used.
I agree and for me it is more about how much access to memory that 32 bit can access which by todays standards not an whole lot, so it would it would make sense to move up to 64 bit.
