OMG, I've been waiting for this. My sims always put the stupid plate down but still perform the interaction so it looks like they're feeding the other sim their hand.
Also stuff I didn't know: First off (happy to find this out due to my high frustration over it) you can buy homework from the bookshelf. It's under the children's category for 1 simoleons.
Also, if a sim cooks an "okay" white cake, the cake will not be white, but actually a muddy yellow.
