It's not the toddler, it's the chair. Get rid of it.
I just put the food on a table and let them get food for themselves.
That said, I do like the toddler stage being a handful, as it's a really needy stage and a first development stage.
There is also that relief when they age up. :D
I have never used that high chair myself. When I heard toddlers can just grab a plate I set up a little area near the windows in the dinning room with the cute kids chairs for the toddlers to eat at and they grab their own plates. I do wish kids had a little kids size table and chairs though - but my tots do fine in the little chairs and eat with the family nicely. Eating is the easiest thing to do with toddlers actually.
I couldn't agree more on that bolded part. Although I never have family dinners, because someone is always busy with something, everyone grabs food whenever they are hungry, or thirsty in 95% of the cases with my vamps. Its the same with the little ones. When they are hungry, there's always nicely prepared food in the fridge (most of my sims are Master Chef wannabe's). No high chair, no problem basically. All they need then is bath time (very rarely when they are potty trained) and cuddles. Everyone is always ready to give the tots some hugging. The rest is easy.
