I've heard from tons of people that they ran and still run TS3 well. However, this thread is not about ts3, but ts4.
I'm not asking for ts4 to load dozens of lots at the same time -- just the 5 that the put in the same lot. Ts4 is much more 'optimized' than ts3, anyway, since all the objects are less complex and have smaller textures. The way things are right now, the game IS loading all the lots in the neighborhood, you just can't use them. Ever gone into 'tab' mode and gone looking around the neighborhood? You can go into your neighbor's houses and see that every object inside is already loaded.
most games now-a-days are open world. Why is ts4 any different? I did mention that if there were concerns about performance that the feature should be optional by letting you chose what lots to 'preload.' Besides, why are they building the game around people with computers from 10 years ago?? If these people can't afford a new computer, they probably can't afford Maxis's $500 game.
