I did lock the door, because I thought if I didn't, random Sims might come into my house, eat my food, etc. I seem to remember reading that Bob Pancakes tends to stop by and mess with your things. I didn't want Bob, or anyone else, pulling stunts like that.
I'm going to unlock it and see if my next welcome guest can actually come in my Sim's house. :)
