This is my favorite version of The Sims.
I think this game lends itself to so-called "family" game play much more so than Sims 3.

I find non-Maxis Match CC to be a lil bit creepy.
I don't mind loading screens.
I don't miss CASt as much as I thought I would.
I don't think this game is geared more towards new Sims players and I find it a bit insulting when others try to say this. I've been playing since the original game came out.
I don't know for sure, but I don't think these are necessarily unpopular Sims opinions. I just think people are more likely to be loud when they have complaints. There are probably plenty of people who play/buy the game that don't get on the forums etc. I know I'm not on here very often.
