Not really, there are dealing with thousands of us and some, if not most of the Simmers are under the age of 20,
this is the games target audience. Teenagers are not known for being reserved and in control of their emotions (I was once a teenager and speaking from experience.)
Like I said, if they don't want arguments and people speculating, they should stop dropping hints if there is nothing to hint at. Also, the guy/girl that Grant replied to wasn't even being immature. They simply said: "Maybe the prepatch." Then Grant went off on one.
If they have no intention of adding cars in the near future and according to some of the replies from the Gurus they aren't; STOP WINDING PEOPLE UP AND THEN GETTING ANNOYED WHEN THEY SPECULATE.
I don't think it's the fans that are being immature in this instance.
