Self-absorbed sounds fun in theory, but I can't get it to mesh well with other traits, so I've yet to use it. Same deal with paranoid.
I could see myself loving these two after some time though, because I love negative traits, it makes sims fun to play.
My all time favorite trait is still squeamish. I've been pretty fond of dance machine lately, but I wish it went further into party animal. Same with jealous, I like playing it as is, but would love it even more if it was a possessive trait and manifested in more aspects of life than romance, like simchildren not keen on sharing toys and attention.
I love your idea of changing the jealous to a "possesive" more general trait. I also would love a naive trait.
