Even if we didn't speculate and just waited for the pack to drop, we could still be disappointed. It'll inevitably be compared with Generations, which was one of the best Sims 3 packs. And The Sims 4 doesn't have the best track record.
As for what I want:
- More kids' games, especially things that can be done with groups of kids.
- Walking canes
- Strollers
- Inheritance system
- Treehouses
- More after-school activities
- Tea parties
- Dress-up chests
- Some way for kids/teens to develop interests in certain career paths. It would be a great way to give sims personalities and have them play a more active role in their own lives. (It'd be a passing interest that you can choose not to develop, so it's not railroad-y)
- Activities geared towards elders, even if other ages can do them (bingo, water aerobics, scrapbooking, puzzles, golf)
- Field trips (rabbit holes, can be ties to the above)
- Dentures
- Board games
- Video cameras
- A way to take a family photo when you have a lot of sims.
- A way for same-sex or infertile sims to have biological children, without the use of cheats
- Teens throwing house parties, and the risk of getting caught
- Midlife crises
- The tooth fairy
- Daycare active career
- I wouldn't mind if they threw in imaginary friends
I love the inheritance system idea. But the same-sex bio children has existed for years. And I dont mean the OG CAS play with genetics workaround. This specific change came even before the change for body frame choice and clothing unlocks. You can choose if your Sim is able to get pregnant, get others, or not at all. Regardless of sex. That's not a cheat that's basegame. But like if you mean IVF or donation, stuff like that. Idk they'll bring that in here. But there are mods that have that. Idk if they are on the new site. But there are quite a few that can increase your abilities in that manner.
CAS is a great option, but I want something more immersive than a workaround or cheat. Donors sound like a fun idea, but I was picturing something like Into the Future, where two same-sex sims can get their DNA combined and have a child. I know that was meant to be "futuristic," but it'd be fun. And it's notnlike technology in the Sims 4 isn't already advanced.
I could see that be interesting. I do like what we have. Though right now it's more like your Sims are transgender or intersex when it comes to arranging things. Rather than having the ability for two sims who normally wouldn't be able to have children together to have children. Right now, it's slightly different. I think adding on is totally fine, as long as it doesn't take away what we have now. I didn't play Into The Future so I didn't experience that one. I think I was just happy to have two wives able to have children together. Or whatever configuration I chose.
But another mechanic added in could bring more options. Especially if it's something that doesn't rely on the means of birth we currently have. Maybe even paving the way for a Sim and Servo baby. Or Servos having kids in general. Though hybrids don't really work in this game.
