Now that I've seen the live stream, according to these three specific packs, I'd say the worth is approximately (and I'm trying to be realistic):
CAS Fitness Kit Pack: $2.99
Country Kitchen Kit Pack: $3.99 - $4.99
Dust Busting Kit Pack: $4.99 - $5.99
But pack worth will most likely vary with play style. I like gameplay and CAS the most in general, though I like to have a variety of build/buy to suit my Sims' environment. The only one I'm considering purchasing is the Kitchen one, but I think the best value is the gameplay one and the worst value is the CAS one.
