I have at least one sim in the household build up their cooking skill and usually have them prepare several meals at a time
I like using the simple living lot trait so my sims ether need to grow plants and/od buy groceries. So the majority of sims have that lot trait.

I usually prepare a house for my sims family before moving them in anywhere.
I put at least one vacation home in every city/town
I pretty much only play rotationally.
I keep aging off most of the time.
I have households that are varied, very rarely are 2 households the same.
I usually create my sims with a ready made personality ( in my head), and have the cheat for deleting lifestyles memorized, as I usually hate that they will develops a lifestyle that I do not see for them in my head, and then act out of character.
I usually make my sims start out in a household under 20K ( except for premades, or special sims that are supposed to be rich ) and don’t use money cheats much and never use needs cheats.
I pause a lot to que up actions for all household members…… I micro manage my sims usually.
I actually prefer my sims to be cheerful or happy most of the time ( I know a lot of people don’t like that ), but I’m happy or at least fairly satisfied most of the time myself, and it bothers me when my sims get tense, unless it happens to be one of those few sims that are supposed to be whiners, complainers or just generally unhappy about their lot in life….. lol.
