I build my sims' homes from pictures, puzzles, books, movies and real life homes. I occasionally use floor plans but not often. I especially love the older homes as I am familiar with the typical floor plans from living and visiting in a lot of the older homes where I live. Otherwise I just guess how the layout goes. Since Paranormal came out, I have really enjoyed building haunted houses that actually exist in real life, or were used as haunted houses in movies. I was able to visit the real farmhouse where the events portrayed in the movie The Conjuring were to have occurred. I enjoy the challenge of trying to build houses that resemble those in real life, especially those with history.
