Why does everybody hate the idea of multiplayer in TS5?

Multiplayer just simply doesn't make sense for the game. There would be tons of features that would have to adapt (conversations, romance, etc), it would most likely be very glitchy, and, from what I've heard from many simmers, it's not a wanted feature. I want to play on my own, in my own world without anybody else besides me and the Sims.
