Why does everybody hate the idea of multiplayer in TS5?

They should put resources into making an awesome open world single player game. If they go multiplayer, I'm done with the Sims franchise. Somehow I think multiplayer Sims equals microtransaction hell. Plus I don't like multiplayer games because I like to play games at my own pace.
