Well, it is probably the cheap stove, but I use it in many houses and there were no fires to speak of until yesterday. Both "chefs" were elderly, but with decent cooking skills. I have an elderly chef who was in the cooking career her whole life. She has maxed out cooking skill and knows every recipe in the game. She sets herself on fire multiple times a day while cooking anything from eggs and toast to taco casserole to gnocchi. It's the worst and it's irritating because she is my best cook. I used to have her cater my other families parties, but now she's useless because all she does it start fires.
Maybe it's elders that start fires more. Maybe they're trying to simulate early dementia or something like that.
