Why is there such a small ammount of male MMCC

A couple of asides on this point.

First, what is it with official Sims male clothing and the amount of pants that are too short? Since I got City Living, it seems the slightly too short pants option outnumbers the full length. When the game creates NPC townies, they've all got these silly looking shrunk pants on and I often change them in CAS.

Second, often the CC designers I like best for women's clothing aren't that good at designing male clothing. They tend to over elaborate men's clothes.
