I noticed this as well...then remembered I was doing my 10 Ghost challenge, which meant the apartment had the cursed trait.
Was surprised that one of my Fresh Chefs still managed to start a fire, though!
I took away the stove. It's cold food for my Sims until that challenge is over. ^_^;;
