Why We Need A Create A Style Tool

I think there's a petition already out for this and I remember signing it. But I thought it'd be good to discuss it here because I just realised how desperately I need it. Let's look at some of my sims in both TS3 and TS4. Please feel free to share your screenshots too.

I use CC and lighting mods in TS4 but none in TS3. However, I do still have some screenshots without any of this so I will post both. I don't like the lack of swatches because many of them are too vibrant midtones, not the colors I actually want to use. I find this to be more of an issue in CAS than build/buy mode, but I still hate the lack of it. Plus, some of the color swatches are horrifically matched.

I understand that it may make the game work less well on some lower-end machines, but it would increase customizability and uniquity of our sims.

@windweaver I mean, when i owned the Sims 3, i had a pretty average PC, nothing too crazy (Today i have an extremely powerful pre-built gaming pc) and the game ran very smoothly, so i don't think it's "that" demanding unless you were trying to run it on a laptop.

That's a really old post. I wrote that a couple years ago. Now I love this game and even though the colors don't match that well, I'm still having a good time

  • Oh, i'm having fun as well, but that doesn't make these points any less true and it doesn't make the issues stop existing. We do still need a Create a Style and if not today or tomorrow, then some time in the next 10 years.

Hey friends, so this thread has been inactive for a pretty long time so I'm going to close it off. If you have any questions about necroposting you can read this thread here : Necroposting

    What am I looking at?

How the colors look better toned in TS3 because we have more swatches. I'm not sure if my post was good but that's my basic point that we need more swatches or create a style. Sorry I didn't explain it right. I tried to prove it in a different way to usual posts about this kind of 'why we need...' but let's just say I failed at it.

You accidently posted the same picture twice by the way. And I don't think CASt will ever happen for Sims 4. Well, let's say, it would surprise me.

Thanks for telling me about the picture. I find that a sad reality :(

How can you compare all the games together when they are nothing alike? They are all using different software in all 3 its not the same in all 3.

CASt or at the very least a simple color wheel, would make my day for TS4 <3. When it comes to decorating (one of my favorite things to do) I miss the options without a boat load of cc. I mean ofcourse I had CC in TS3, but they were mostly furniture meshes and hair. In TS4 I i pretty much have thousands of files of different patterns/recolors of the same bed or hair. Or a unique hair color mod files(strawberry blonde for example) for every hair in the basegame, expansions, stuffpack/etc.

However when doing this, I knew I also had to wait for the creator to update the hairs for it, and also other cc would most likely not have the strawberry blonde that I was using for the others.

So like anything, it had it's ups and downs, but then I'd sometimes find myself switching back and fourth between TS3 and TS4, and I couldn't help but feel like "If I could have just one semi-advanced pattern style or heck just a color wheel, I'd able to cut back on thousands of cc files in TS4."

So I'd defiantly be for a color wheel or a a semi-castyle if it's possible.

This is my situation just to get basic hair colors in TS4, and even then they aren't perfectly what I wanted.
  • Umm how do these pictures show why we need the color wheel i mean tbh they just seem like random screenshots. Also your comparing two completely different games with different systems. Also try finding an example in the sims 4 where you would need the color cause there alot times it happens. But tbh i would like the color wheel but if breaks the game then keep it out
  • I wouldn't mind something a little more compact that allows me to change the colors of items, but not the textures. I couldn't stand how frequently CAS-T would crash my game in TS3, and I don't want to see that happening in TS4. A nice color wheel so we could adjust the colors on clothing and items would make me quite happy, though.

I don't personally want to see anything more than that.
