Actions keep being cancelled

My sims doesn't seem to want to do certain actions.
Actions like napping on a couch, they would do.
However, stuff like sitting on the computer and adopting a pet will get cancelled without any notice.
Sims also can't go to school or work. The  second I tell them to go to work it will show a popup saying "Skip Work?" or "Skip School?" and whether I choose "Yes" or "No", it will cancel the action and remove it from the sim's queue.

I have disabled all mods, restarted the game, restarted my computer, verified files and even reinstalled the entire game and just copying my save back to the saves folder but it still seems to have this issue.

I don't really know what's going on anymore.
I received this game as a gift from my friend on Steam on 28/11/2020 and the issue started since 29/11/2020.
I have used the ingame cheats on the save but whether I have the cheats enabled or disabled, the issue still persists.

    @Java747 Can you test another household as well on the same save to see if it's related to the household/house

    @Java747 Could you try sitting down at the computer first and see if it then works

    Do you also have issues on a fresh save ?

    I've seen that skip work/skip school message too but it seems mostly happening when something else is interrupting. No always sends them to work for me though

    @crinrict I created a new save, and tried to do the same thing and it works.

    However, on my original save, I tried to sit down before using the computer but it seems to automatically cancel the Sit action too.
    I'll be doing up a video later that showcases this issue of mine, thanks for replying!

    @Java747 Can you test another household as well on the same save to see if it's related to the household/house

    As someone new to The Sims, I finally found out what's wrong with the save, well... I think it's what's wrong with me, not the save. In the middle of recording, I then realised why the sims' actions got cancelled because there was no way there.
    Basically, the house I live in has 3 floors and I don't know what deleted the staircase from first to second floor, but it did and it ended up making the sims unable to go anywhere.
    I don't know when the staircase got deleted, but only in the middle of recording did I realise the sim gave the "No way there" icon when it was prompted to go to the location.
    So, I guess there's the problem.

    I'm getting the same problem. (not going to school or work) My sim when asked to weed the garden kneeled down started to weed and stand straight back up again and do this several times over and over without a weed being removed.
    The Cow plant refuses to eat every time food is offered. Another is when you select toilet stop and then shower, my sim will stop the toilet task (even when not started or finish half way through and go to the shower. 
    When asking family members to get left overs. One is able to carry out the task while the others wave their arms and the task is cancelled out. Sims are glitching along walls and walking in circles then end up walking through walls or jamming against them. 
    I have Sims unable to open doors to enter or exit a room. It isn't until I go into build mode and move the door out from the wall and place it back that I am able to get my Sime to enter/exit the room. This happens frequently over time. 

    General queries: 
    1) Why dose the Sim (standing in a kitchen eating) then decide to travel across the length of the House to wash in a sink when they could use the dish washer or sink in the kitchen?
    2) When you are trying to get your Sim to chat with another in order to gain social gains or trying to woo. Why dose the other sim (Non playing or otherwise) just rudely walk off? This is extremely annoying.
    3) With Visiting Sims. (That you have as a Playing Sim in another household) why can't they be a controlled sim while visiting to get better interaction?
    4) Bees do not fly at night. 
    5) During heavy rain the canals and rivers do not change their rate of flow or height? 
    6) Why dose Super Fertilizer cost a hundred Simoleans per bag yet only fertilize one plant. Could it least fertilize 5-10? 
    7) Is it possible to have a Sim finish a Painting they start before starting another? I have Sims leaving several unfinished paintings at any given time.

    I have this problem, but with term papers from university and i have repaired my game.
